Organic Wild Rice

Wild rice despite its name is not rice, it is the seed of an aquatic grass like rice. This grass grows in shallow slow moving freshwater along streams and lakes. It was originally grown and harvested by native Americans who have include this grain in their diets for hundreds of years.

Wild rice has a nutty flavor and chewy texture. It can be eaten alone or added to many dishes, such as salad, soups, casseroles and desserts.
